Welcome to an overview of PATF Footwear Course 2
Footwear course 2 (derivatives) is about creating a derivative of an existing style.
Once you have registered and joined PATF you can find all the information and formats you need to complete the course successfully, in the Course Support Information Folders on the PATF Website.
Footwear derivatives are created by changing some parts of an existing design. Changing features such as , materials, colors, textures, details, accessories, technologies, and bottom/soles units But you must keep the same basic upper patterns.
You must select one design from category A and select your own Formal Design for category B to create 2 Designs .Category A can be found in Course Support Folder 1 , Course Guidelines and Management.
You must change or add to your 2 selected designs. Remember to use different, materials, accessories, details, technologies, bottom units.
You must use environment friendly or recyclable material in one of your designs.
Remember, you must keep the same basic upper patterns of the designs you selected.
Participants must design, develop and commercialize their designs ready for production.
Participants must download and complete their course Technical Formats and Storyboards as instructed, then upload them back to their Phase Participant Assessment Folders, at the end of every phase
Please use English when possible.
You will find blank and detailed examples of all course’s technical formats in the Course Information Folders F1. Course formats.
You will have 60 days to complete the course once you have joined / registered and started Phase 1.
We would like you to target 27 days to complete the course. You will find the Course Timelines and a suggested Course Plan in Course Support Folder F1.
Once you have started a phase you must complete that phase before moving to the next phase.
You must start at phase 1 and continue 2,3,4,5 . Keeping in numerical order.
Key objectives of each Phase.
PHASE 1 –
Phase 1 is about, Research, Creating Sketches, Ideas and preparing your Technical Formats.
You should read all the information in the 4 Course Support Information Folders
PHASE 2 –
Phase 2 is about selecting your best Phase 1 ideas, materials and information and moving them to your Phase 2 Participant Assessment Folders
PHASE 3 –
Phase 3 is about Developing your 2 chosen Designs.
You must create 2 or 3D computer Graphic images of your 2 designs, adding written detailed information about materials, components and special treatments to the images.
You need to create 2 colorways of each design.
You should create 2 or 3D computer images of the TPU external components, technologies and logos you have designed
PHASE 4 –
In Phase 4 you must finalize your Technical and making Process Information.
The Technical Format information must be correct, detailed and explain how you made your 2 designs.
You will find Design and Technical Support Information in the Websites Course Support Information Folder 3 to help you.
PHASE 5 –
In Phase 5 you must create your course Presentation by using the Designs and information you created during your course. You must Upload your Personal 90 Sec Video. In English or Vietnamese Remember to complete both Storyboards.
